CNIL Mention in Privacy Policy Check
The mention of the CNIL (or a supervisory authority) is an indicator of compliance. Check its presence in your privacy policy and strengthen user trust.
What this test checks
This test checks whether your privacy policy mentions the CNIL (French Data Protection Authority) or another data protection authority (e.g., ICO in the UK). This mention shows seriousness and GDPR compliance. It informs users that they can contact this authority in case of disputes or rights violations.
Our recommendation
Add a CNIL mention in your privacy policy with its contact details (address, website). If you are based in another country, mention the competent authority (e.g., ICO for the UK, AEPD for Spain). Also include your DPO contact details if you have one. Ensure this information is easily accessible from your site footer.
